Leslie Connolly, the founder, has been playing squash for 30 years -- first at Bates College, then at the University of Texas, during stints in southern Africa and, for the last 20 years in the Washington, DC area.  She was instrumental in building 2 squash clubs in northern Virginia, served on the Board of Potomac Squash Club and was the President of National Capital Squash for 8 years, until she moved to Asheville in 2021.

As a competitor, she has played for the National Capital Squash Howe Cup team since 2002, competed in 10 US Masters Championships, 1 World Masters Championship and joined the US Team for the Lapham Grant US/Canada matches.  And still, her favorite matches are against her group of regulars on weekday mornings!
